As a kid, I was fascinated by the work that goes into making a single animation cell in a Walt Disney film: story, sketches, hand-painting on cellophane, teams working on different characters, backgrounds/foregrounds, taking still photos, and combining hundreds of those photos into a universal motion picture that many cultures can enjoy. Times have definitely evolved from this type of movie production, but there is a spectrum in the craft.
In my career, I have had the opportunity to design revolutionary end-to-end experiences for global companies in an equally immersive process to create magical experiences for customers everywhere (including those behind the scenes).
Most recently, I was Associate Director of Product Design for Physical Retail Tech at Wayfair, where I bridged the digital and physical worlds for a seamless omnichannel experience. Previously, I worked at Amazon, Starbucks, and Uber.
I am passionate about building stronger, more inclusive communities. In my spare time, I mentor emerging designers in minorities and work on humanitarian and animal welfare projects, flip through interior design and lifestyle magazines, park-hop in the great Pacific North West with my partner + dogs, and try to get 1% better every day.
