Connect is a yearly Global Experience Design (GXD) community event created to bring the 170+ Wayfair designers together to help each other thrive, work efficiently, and make connections. I volunteered to craft the branding and standards that can be used for years to come. The brand was well received and it is now leveraged across several functions at Wayfair.
Masks for Good
My design contribution to doing good in the middle of a pandemic. https://www.gofundme.com/f/masks-for-good Together with our team, we raised $46,469 securing 20,000 masks when supply was short. We distributed thousands of masks to major hospitals in Seattle, New York, Chicago, and California. Posters were also placed around cities to help raise awareness of the campaign and encourage others to donate what they could.
While working on Amazon Go, the organization wanted to find ways to recognize the hard work everyone was contributing by making it easy to recognize them. We worked out of one building and shared one common kitchen space. My design solution was to create a feature wall with medallions that were placed near the kitchen space, making it easy for all who walk by to participate. As the team grew, and moved buildings, versions of this feature were added to designated floors.
Get Out the Vote 2020
My contribution to AIGA’s Get Out The Vote Campaign in 2020. When the USPS was being defunded, I wanted to do my part in helping fund it by purchasing stamps and participating in public demonstrations. I then used the stamps to design a poster for AIGA’s Get Out The Vote Campaign reminding voters what is at stake regardless of political views. The poster was requested for use by AIA New York for an event Enhancing Democracy: The Power of Design in Voting Spaces
Design contributions for cultural impact.
The Haiti Poster Project
The Haiti Poster Project was launched three days after the January 12th, 2010 earthquake in Haiti. The project is a collaborative effort by the design community to help effect change through our work. Signed and numbered, limited edition posters have been donated by designers and artists from around the world. This was my contribution.
A guiding light to those who are separated from their loved ones, who are suffering through the cold and seeking safety, to the young and old in despair, the ones who are fighting back, and to those who are grieving the loss of loved ones.
Starbucks Community Store
My contribution to Starbucks Community Store. These store concepts create environments for Starbucks partners to connect with, engage and represent the communities they serve in unique ways around the world.
Sketches and designs for Wayfair's Physical Retail team apparel. My concept represents a deconstruction of the Wayfair logo with nods to technology, arrows for growth into physical space, and references to architectural schematics.
